If any breed is going to test the back of its tag, it's a husky. They dig under fences, slip collars, and treat a closed gate as a puzzle with a time limit. The tag is the only thing standing between a stranger and a very loud mystery.
That's why the text has to stay readable. Ours is laser-cut into the metal, with no paint on top to chip, so the phone number survives digging, snow, mud and whatever creek they found on the way out of the neighborhood.
If found, the tag does the talking. The husky will also do the talking.
Huskies are medium-large with a double coat that hides small tags completely. Go big enough that a stranger can find it without excavating.

We're a family in Lehi, Utah with seven English bulldogs and one very busy laser. We wrote the bulldog tags first, from experience. The husky lines come from friends who own them, mostly shouted to us over the sound of their husky.
