Lab Dog Tags

Engraved tags for the breed that has never once been fed, according to the breed. If there's a pond within a mile, a lab has been in it, usually wearing whatever was on its collar.

Built for a dog that lives in the water

A lab doesn't go for a swim. A lab goes in. Pool, lake, canal, the bay, the cooler you left open. Then it rolls in the sand to dry off and goes back in. A printed tag doesn't last a summer like that.

Ours are laser engraved, so the words are cut into the metal. There's no ink for chlorine, salt water or mud to wash off, because the lettering isn't sitting on top.

Your lab will still smell like a pond. The tag will still be readable.

Size it for the neck, not the appetite

Labs are big, solid dogs with collars to match, and a small tag gets lost on a wide strap. Go bigger, so a stranger can read your number while a lot of happy dog is trying to climb into their lap.

Short answer: adult lab, standard collar, go Large.

Add $4 for stainless or brass, $6 for polished. Shapes available at the size you pick are shown in the builder, and the preview is exactly what we engrave.

8 lab sayings everyone with a lab already says out loud

Labs are the friendliest dogs on earth and also the worst roommates. They eat socks, lie about dinner and fetch anything as long as they get to keep it. The joke goes on the front; the name and number go on the back, which is the side that matters when your lab turns up three yards over with a stolen sandwich.

Every line above fits the tag as written. Want your own? Type it in the builder and the preview shows what fits before you pay.

Made by a house with seven bulldogs

We're a family in Lehi, Utah with seven English bulldogs and one very busy laser. We wrote the bulldog tags first, from experience. The lab jokes come from friends, neighbors and every lab that has ever stolen our dogs' toys at the park.

Lab tag FAQ

What size tag should I get for a Labrador?

Large (2 inch) for most adult labs. They wear wide collars and a small tag gets lost on them. A larger tag also makes your phone number easier to read on a wiggling dog.

Will pool water and salt water ruin an engraved lab tag?

No. The words are laser engraved into the metal, not printed on it, so there's no ink for chlorine, salt or pond water to wash away. Swim season can run all year.

Can I put my lab's name and my phone number on the tag?

Yes, that's the standard build. The funny saying goes on the front, and your dog's name plus your phone number are engraved on the back. A third back line is optional.

Do you have sayings written specifically for Labradors?

Nine of them on this page, about the eating, the swimming, the shedding, the fetching and the tail that clears coffee tables. Every one fits the tag as written, and the full sayings list has hundreds more.

What happens if the engraving comes out wrong?

Custom tags aren't returnable, but if we mis-engrave it, we remake it free. Send a photo and we re-cut it. Tags ship USPS from Lehi, Utah in 3 to 5 days.
